Small Update

Hellloooooo family and friends!!

Sorry about the lack of posts as of late. Our little family has been so busy with all the changes going on around here.

My biggest bit of news is that "Ms. Wanda" is back! She is once again our nanny and everything is perfect. She takes such good care of our little man and it's so comforting to know that when I leave my little man all day- that he is in the best of hands. My dad is helping us pay for her and Dad, if you ever read this, there is no way that I can thank you enough. You make my world go 'round.

EJ is doing really well. He's got a lot of teeth and is always drooling from new ones poppin through. He is consistently sleeping through the night. He is learning to recognize a few words and saying them in relation to what they mean. He will also bring you his shoes (size 8) if he hears you say buh bye or if he wants to go outside. He's eating very well- lots of different stuff. His favorite drink is Chocolate milk (although he also loves rootbeer) and his favorite thing to eat is chicken flavor stuffing. I'm sure he could eat a whole box if he tried. ... ... He also loves dry cereal. Go figure. Hahha. Oh, and- barbeque sauce. L-O-V-E-S BBQ sauce.

We brush EJ's teeth everynight before bed... and to do it more efficiently, I bought him a little stepping stool for his bathroom. It's now his favorite place to be. And he loves to have his teeth brushed. Or maybe it's just that he loves green Shrek flavored tooth paste. What does a Shrek taste like? I'm not sure, but if EJ could tell you, he'd probably say, "Like Yummy Boogers and Snot". Yum. EJ also likes to use his stepping stool to wash his hands. He quite often will, if asked to "Let's go wash your hands EJ" he go up to his bathroom and do it. It's so cute.

Well, that's about it for now.

I don't have a Halloween costume picked out yet for EJ. I guess I better get on the move. I really wanted him to be a cowboy but it look like the pickins' are slim- so he might be a bumble bee instead.

EJ started daycare at Ms. Wanda's today. He LOVES it. (I love it :-P) Almost time to move. Only 11 days left here in Avondale. Yay God!

We recently went over to Mom's for a BBQ and while we were there, Uncie Rye Bread (aka- the worlds best uncle) got to hang out with EJ for a little bit. Although, it seems that EJ was the one doing MOST of the hanging. SEE VIDEO HERE.

EJ IS WALKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my. Little man is walking. I think I called everyone I know when I found out. Unfortunately it happened while I was at work- but the daycare people were so excited to do a show and tell with him when I got there to pick him up. I walked in and Ms. Laura said, "Cassie- HE'S WALKING- WATCH!!!" I looked down the hallway... ... ... ... and little man was WALKING out to me. It was the cutest damn thing I have ever seen in my life. Seriously. ... ... ... ... Then I cried. A lot. Next thing I know I'm gonna be meeting his girlfriends and sending him off to prom. I am so blessed to have such a sweet and smart son. I love him more than words can express.

These are some pictures and video of my recent visit out to Indiana to see Gerri and my Dad. We all had a really great time hanging out. I had a great time sleeping. I call their house the "Zen" house. All I want to do when I am there is sleep. It's fantastic.

This is for you Gwammy!!

Little man is doing really well lately. Still isn't walking yet, but is very close. I went on vacation this past week, to Indiana, and John took care of him all by himself and did a GREAT JOB. What a great dad EJ has. And what a great husband I have. Our little family is doing so well. EJ will start back up at daycare on Monday and I'm confident that he will do fine there. I think being around other kids again is going to help him learn to walk more soon too. His top four teeth and bottom four teeth are all finally in AND he's got several molars he's workin on too. He's doing well with table food and LOVES pizza. I know, we are so healthy. Today he walked up to me while I was eating a granola bar and decided that I should share it with him. I did, and he smacked his lips as he ate it. Cutest little guy ever. He has mastered the art of clapping his hands, waving high, giving high fives (and high tens :-P), flapping his arms like a bird does his wings, he knows how to do a little dance move, and babbling like crazy. He loves to be sang to (especially by yours truly) and it's a good thing because I'd sing to him even if he didn't like it. Every night we read a few short books together and he seems to really dig that. I think he likes the different sounds the words make, and the colors on the pictures. My personal favorite book is "That's not MY dinosaur".

Happy Birthday PaPaw McIver!!!

I'm making a picture post and a video post. This is obviously the picture post. :)

EJ has been doing great lately. The other night, he was having a little bit of trouble staying asleep (bad dreams probably) and so I went into his room to soothe him. I got him out of his crib and sat down in the rocker and he actually let me hold him and rock him back to sleep. I miss that about him being a newborn. He did indeed fall asleep- he was even snoring after just a few minutes. So adorable. It is in those moments that I continually realize that being a mother is the best thing on the planet. I love him so much.

Today, is my Dad's birthday. I miss him a lot. Happy Birthday Dad.

Stef, Mike, John, EJ, and I all partied out at the pool today. EJ was so good. He just chilled in his little floaty thing in the water, and then when we were done with that he hung out in his pack and play as the rest of us hung out. I am so excited for Stef and Mike to have kids. Mike's gonna be a great Dad and Stef's gonna compliment beautifully by being the bestest Mom. I am so excited for them.

Gwammy, last weekend, offered to watch little man while John and I go to a Christian Marriage retreat in a couple of weeks, and we decided to take her up on it. I'm very excited to go, but I'm gonna miss my little man like crazy. Then, that following Monday, John is going to a baseball game with Mikey and then I'm going the next day to one with Stef and then that same week, on Thursday, I leave to go to Indiana for a week. I know everyone is wondering if I can be a whole week away from my little man, but I am going to be fine. He's gonna be in the best care with his Daddy and Gwammy and there's nothing to worry about.
